In the cold corners of Aethera, the Magistrates reign as the ultimate architects of authority.  Representing the crushing weight of absolute order, these enforcers exist solely to bind Guardians to the rigid mandates of Magistrate Law.  Their supremacy is absolute and terrifying, for they alone possess the grim capability to permanently extinguish an Aetheran's light.  To maintain their iron grip, they subject the defiant to the Aetheric Inquest.  This harrowing ritual rips the essence from its vessel, exposing every secret and sin to the Magistrates’ hollow gaze.  

 

Should a Guardian be found wanting, they face the finality of The Evanesce.  This is no mere execution, but an erasure so profound that every trace of the victim’s life is purged from the collective memory of both Earth and Aethera. Those who are Evanesced leave only a void behind, a jagged fracture in the timeline where a person once stood.
